In "The Journey", the game tells me to go to the bar. What do I have to do now?
You are about to experience the unique aspect of the game. In the background, the phone constantly determines your location without you noticing it (this doesn't cost you anything). You'll now have to leave your current location in real life and walk for some time. After some hundred meters at the most, the game will continue automatically. You will notice that by another picture being displayed on the screen and the story continuing.
Can I resume "The Journey" later on?
The game always automatically saves your progress. This also includes the location data gathered during gameplay. This means that your detective bureau will stay in the same place where it was at the beginning of the game, at the place where you first started it!
Does the game work everywhere?
Yes, it does. The locations you have to go to during the game are no predefined areas, it would be impossible to do that for every city of the world. It only matters that you walk in one direction, until the game tells you that you have reached your destination.
Do I have to go to a real bar?
No, you don't. The game can not know all bars of the world. When the game tells you to go to the bar, just walk somewhere. When the game tells you that you have reached your destination, it will always be at about the location where you are in that moment.
How far do I have to go?
That highly depends on where you play the game. In big cities, you might only need to walk a few meters. On the countryside, the areas may be several hundred meters apart from each other.
The game displays that I have no reception.
As described on the How does it work?-page, the game uses the ID of the nearest mast of your network provider to track your movements. Because of that, you need to have reception to play the game, otherwise the game (and your mobile phone) would be "blind".
If you see this message even if you do have reception, initiate a call to yourself and end it before the phone really connects. After this, the phone will know the ID of the nearest mast and the game will work.
Do I have to save the game progress?
The game will automatically save your game progress every time you leave the game or go to another area. In "The Journey II" there is the option to manually save your progress. Normally you will not need to use it, but you can still use it if you feel that you have already done a lot in a room without going to another room.
Is it required to have played through The Journey I?
The story of "The Journey II" starts where part I left off. However, it's no problem if you do not know the first part. If you read the newspaper in the detective bureau at the beginning of the game, you will read a short summary of the story of the first part.
